How We Clean Your Ducts:
A DESCRIPTION OF DUCT CLEANING AND THE AIR HANDLING SYSTEM We clean the entire air handling system with a truck-mounted vacuum system and a compressed air power brush and air rake system to remove all the dust, dirt and debris in the air handling system. The truck-mounted vacuum hoses are attached to each main line (supply and return/intake) at all times during the entire cleaning procedure. We use a 225 psi compressed air power brush and whipper system to thoroughly clean the entire air handling system. Our truck-mounted vacuum is a 25 hp Onan engine that ensures maximum suction on each and every job. We also seal and block every vent (register and grill) to create negative pressure by the push/pull method. We clean each register (supply and return) with compressed air. All the dust, dirt and debris is guaranteed to be removed from the entire system. Access plates will be installed with metal screws and tape gasket. An average duct cleaning of a residential home will take 2 hrs, depending on the size of the house, how much dirt is in the air handling system, the degree of difficulty, whether there is a finished basement, how many main lines or holes to be cut. Some houses need more than 2 hrs to ensure job is completely cleaned out. Extra labour would then be applied. An average house has 2 main lines, hot air output and cold return air, which run the length of the house from the furnace. Off each main line are the "finger" lines, which lead to each register. In some cases, there are more than 4 main lines. In this case we must clean the extra lines at an additional cost. Some main lines are hidden behind a finished wall, and an access grill is required to ensure the cleaning is done completely and professionally. Main lines may also be located in the crawl space and an additional cost would then apply. An annual furnace cleaning and check up should be done by a licensed gas contractor. A furnace cleaning includes all air handling components of the furnace, A/C evaporator coil, and blower fan. The control panel and gas/oil/or propane valve are not included. Sanitation/disinfectant is important The entire air handling system can be sprayed with a sanitation/disinfectant, which will eliminate dust mites, bacteria, germs, and slow the growth of mold and mildew. 99% of the particles in the air are 1 micron and less. 10 micron and less are invisible to the naked eye and need to be seen with a microscope. We use Benefect Botanical disinfectant, which is hospital grade, meaning no
toxic chemicals whatsoever. It has a 99.9999% kill rate. It is less toxic than vinegar. No rinsing or wiping is needed nor necessary. It is 100% all-natural, biodegradable, renewable ingredients. We have information packages for customers to read and see for themselves about the disinfectant/sanitation. BACK TO DUCT CLEANING |
